The ministry of interior announced that federal government has declared Friday, December 1st as public holiday and the day is set aside to mark the Eid-El-Maulud celebration.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau(rtd), on behalf of the federal government, according to a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja and signed by permanent secretary of the ministry of interior, Engineer Abubakar G. Magaj

The minister urged all Muslim faithful and Nigerians to use the Eid-El-Maulud Celebration to pray for peace, progress and unity of the nation.
He also urged all Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration towards building the nation.
