The middle aged man, simply identified as Gaji Adamu, stormed the Jafi Primary School, Kwaya Kusar town and butchered two male pupils to death with a machete.
Report shows that a teacher and one female pupil were also wounded during the attack.
A statement from
the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Victor Isuku said, as a result, irate youths mobbed the suspect, who became unconscious and was rushed to the hospital under protective custody.
“The corpses and injured have been evacuated to Gombe general hospital for deposition and treatment of the victims,”the statement added
It also said that, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Cp Damian A. Chukwu, has directed the Divisional Police Officer of Kwaya kusar Division to transfer the suspect to the State Criminal investigation and intelligence department (CIID) for a discreet investigation as well as to determine his mental state.
